How Funding Plus Is Paid
We believe you should know exactly how a broker makes money before you use one. Here's how we're paid, how it could affect the offers you see, and how we manage that.

Commission from lenders
In most cases we're paid a commission by the lender when your funding completes. You don't pay this directly, but it may be built into the cost of the finance.
Commission is usually a percentage of the amount borrowed, typically between [X]% and [Y]%, depending on the lender and product. Some lenders pay a fixed fee instead.
Could commission affect the offers I'm shown?
The amount of commission can vary between lenders and products. Where it could affect the rate you pay, some lenders let brokers adjust their commission, which may change your interest rate.
We'll tell you, on request, the commission we expect to receive for any offer we present, and the amount will be shown in your loan documents where required.
Broker fees
For most products we don't charge you a fee. For some complex cases, such as large property or acquisition deals, we may charge a fee. If so we'll:
- Tell you the amount before we start work
- Agree it with you in writing
- Explain when it's payable and whether any of it is refundable
Our lender panel
We work with a panel of [NUMBER] lenders. We don't search the whole market, and some lenders only work directly with borrowers. [Confirm whole-of-market vs panel wording with your compliance adviser.]
Regulated and unregulated lending
Most business lending to limited companies is not regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. Some lending to sole traders and partnerships of up to £25,000 is regulated. [Add FCA status and FRN, and confirm this wording with your compliance adviser.]
